A social media for food. Explore, share, rate. save and like!
About
I had this idea because I'm a big foodie. I realized there are many apps that are related to food, but not a social media where we can post, share and like. At the same time, we can explore and find restaurants based on our taste. Our special feature lie on "Eat-out" for people who wants to eat outdoors or hangout and "Eat-in" for people who likes to stay home and cook, or just happen to be home. We offer recipes based on our user's food preference and also link all the ingredientss to where can shop. We're still working on it!
Process
Research & Analysis: We conducted 12 user interviews and 84 survey responses to understand the pain points and user needs. There were three issues.
Complex navigation. Users struggled to find core features, causing them to drop before completing tasks.
Cluttered content. The information hierarchy was unclear and it was all over the place.
Low feature discoverability. 42% of the users didn't know about the existing tools within the app.
Information Architecture: Based on the research findings, we redesigned the app's navigation flow and content, prioritizing features and information according to user needs.
Wireframing & Prototyping: We designed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the new layout and navigation, iteratively refining them based on user feedback. Afterward, we built a high-fidelity, interactive prototype to test the design.
Usability Testing: We conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design.
Visual Design & Style Guide: We developed a cohesive visual language, including color schemes, typography, and iconography, ensuring consistency throughout the app. We also created a style guide to maintain design consistency in future updates.
